TSSPDCL Electricity Bill Calculator — Telangana
TGSPDCL (Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana, formerly TSSPDCL) and TGNPDCL together supply electricity to every home in Telangana, including Greater Hyderabad, on one common TGERC-approved tariff. This free TSSPDCL bill calculator estimates your monthly LT-I domestic bill using the FY 2026-27 rates — including Telangana’s three-tier category system, slab-wise energy charges, banded customer charges, the ₹10/kW fixed charge and the 6 paise per unit electricity duty. Enter your monthly units and connected load to get an instant, accurate breakdown.
How to Use this TSSPDCL Bill Calculator
- Select Telangana (TGSPDCL/TGNPDCL) from the state dropdown (pre-selected on this page).
- Choose Residential as the connection type.
- Enter your sanctioned load in kW (printed on your bill — most homes are 1–3 kW).

Telangana’s Three-Tier Tariff — Why Your Whole Bill Re-Rates
Telangana’s domestic tariff works differently from almost every other state. LT-I Domestic is split into three categories, and your TOTAL monthly consumption decides which one applies. Stay within 100 units and you’re in LT-I(A) at the cheapest rates. Cross into 101–200 units and the LT-I(B)(i) ladder applies to ALL your units — not just the extra ones. Cross 200 units and the LT-I(B)(ii) ladder re-rates everything again, starting at ₹5.10 for your very first unit. This is why a Telangana bill can jump sharply when consumption crosses 100 or 200 units — and why calculators that treat Telangana as one continuous slab ladder undercount every bill above 100 units. This TSSPDCL bill calculator applies the correct category automatically.
TGSPDCL / TGNPDCL Domestic Tariff FY 2026-27
The rates this TSSPDCL bill calculator uses were approved by TGERC in its Retail Supply Tariff Order dated 30 March 2026, effective 1 April 2026 — retained unchanged from last year.
| Your monthly usage | Category | Energy charges (telescopic within category) |
| Up to 100 units | LT-I(A) | First 50 @ ₹1.95 · next 50 @ ₹3.10 |
| 101 – 200 units | LT-I(B)(i) | First 100 @ ₹3.40 · next 100 @ ₹4.80 |
| Above 200 units | LT-I(B)(ii) | First 200 @ ₹5.10 · 201–300 @ ₹7.70 · 301–400 @ ₹9.00 · 401–800 @ ₹9.50 · above 800 @ ₹10.00 |
Customer charge per month (by usage band): ₹40 (0–50) · ₹70 (51–100) · ₹90 (101–200) · ₹100 (201–300) · ₹120 (301–400) · ₹140 (401–800) · ₹160 (above 800).
Fixed/demand charge: ₹10 per kW of sanctioned load per month (₹50 per kW when monthly usage exceeds 800 units). Electricity duty: 6 paise per unit. FSA/FCA: variable, as notified under TGERC Regulation No. 2 of 2023.
Worked Example 1 — 150 Units, 1 kW (LT-I(B)(i))
- Category: 150 units → LT-I(B)(i) ladder applies to the whole month
- First 100 units × ₹3.40 = ₹340.00
- Next 50 units × ₹4.80 = ₹240.00 → Energy: ₹580.00
- Customer charge (101–200 band): ₹90.00
- Fixed charge: ₹10 × 1 kW = ₹10.00
- Electricity duty: 150 × ₹0.06 = ₹9.00
- Estimated total: ₹689.00
Worked Example 2 — 250 Units, 2 kW (The 200-Unit Jump)
- Category: 250 units → LT-I(B)(ii) — the whole month re-rates
- First 200 units × ₹5.10 = ₹1,020.00
- Next 50 units × ₹7.70 = ₹385.00 → Energy: ₹1,405.00
- Customer charge (201–300 band): ₹100.00
- Fixed charge: ₹10 × 2 kW = ₹20.00
- Electricity duty: 250 × ₹0.06 = ₹15.00
- Estimated total: ₹1,540.00
Compare: the same home at 200 units (2 kW) pays about ₹942 — 50 extra units cost nearly ₹600 more, because the whole month moved to the higher category. Enter both values in the TSSPDCL bill calculator above to see it.
Telangana Electricity Duty — 6 Paise Per Unit, Not a Percentage
Many websites claim Telangana adds “5% electricity duty” to your bill. That is wrong. Under the Telangana Electricity Duty Act, 1939 (Section 3), duty is levied at six paise per unit of energy sold, and Section 7 allows the DISCOM to recover it from consumers — which is why your bill shows a small ‘ED’ line equal to your units × ₹0.06. Use 300 units and the duty is ₹18 — regardless of how many rupees your energy charge comes to. This TSSPDCL bill calculator applies the statutory per-unit duty exactly.
Understanding the Components of Your TGSPDCL Bill
Every line this TSSPDCL bill calculator shows maps to a line on your real bill:
Customer Charge: a flat monthly charge that steps up with your usage band — ₹40 to ₹160.
Fixed/Demand Charge: ₹10 per kW of sanctioned load per month; ₹50 per kW in months above 800 units.
Electricity Duty (ED): 6 paise per unit under the 1939 Act.
FSA/FCA: a variable fuel surcharge notified periodically under TGERC Regulation No. 2 of 2023 — zero unless a notification is in force, which is why it may appear on some bills and not others.
Government Subsidy: the Telangana government pays TGDISCOMs a large subsidy (over ₹15,000 crore approved for FY 2026-27) so consumers pay these subsidised rates rather than the full cost-recovery tariff — free-power schemes (e.g. Gruha Jyothi for eligible households up to 200 units) appear as bill-level adjustments where applicable.
TSSPDCL is Now TGSPDCL — And TGNPDCL Pays the Same
In 2024, Telangana’s DISCOMs were renamed: TSSPDCL became TGSPDCL (Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited) and TSNPDCL became TGNPDCL. TGSPDCL serves Greater Hyderabad and southern districts (Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Medak and more); TGNPDCL serves the northern districts from Warangal. Both charge the identical TGERC-approved tariff above, so this calculator works for every Telangana consumer, whichever DISCOM bills you.

How to Reduce Your Telangana Electricity Bill
In Telangana the tier boundaries matter more than anywhere else in India. At 100 and 200 units your ENTIRE month re-rates — a household at 210 units pays roughly ₹500–600 more than at 200 units. If your usage hovers just above a boundary, trimming a few units (LED lighting, 5-star appliances, AC at 24°C) delivers outsized savings. Track appliance-level consumption with our Power Consumption Calculator, and if you’re eligible for Gruha Jyothi, staying within 200 units matters doubly.
About TGERC and How Telangana Tariffs Are Set
The Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission (TGERC) approves DISCOM tariffs annually after public hearings. The FY 2026-27 order (dated 30 March 2026) kept all domestic energy and fixed charges unchanged, revised Time-of-Day rules for applicable categories, and recorded the state subsidy that keeps household rates below cost. Tariffs typically take effect from 1 April; FSA/FCA notifications can appear during the year.

Frequently Asked Questions — TSSPDCL Electricity Bill
Q1: What is the TGSPDCL per unit rate for domestic consumers?
Ans: Per this TSSPDCL bill calculator’s TGERC-verified rates, it depends on your monthly total. Up to 100 units: ₹1.95 (first 50) and ₹3.10 (next 50). 101–200 units: ₹3.40 (first 100) and ₹4.80 (next 100). Above 200 units: ₹5.10 (first 200), ₹7.70, ₹9.00, ₹9.50 and ₹10.00 in higher slabs. Crossing 100 or 200 units re-rates the whole month.
Q2: Why did my Telangana electricity bill jump suddenly?
Ans: Most likely you crossed a category boundary. At 101 units or 201 units, TGERC’s tariff moves your ENTIRE month to a higher-rate ladder — 50 extra units around the 200 mark can add roughly ₹600 to the bill.
Q3: What is the customer charge on a TGSPDCL bill?
Ans: A flat monthly charge by usage band: ₹40 (up to 50 units), ₹70 (51–100), ₹90 (101–200), ₹100 (201–300), ₹120 (301–400), ₹140 (401–800) and ₹160 above 800 units.
Q4: What is the fixed charge for domestic connections in Telangana?
Ans: ₹10 per kW of sanctioned load per month. In months where consumption exceeds 800 units it is ₹50 per kW.
Q5: What is the electricity duty in Telangana?
Ans: 6 paise per unit under the Telangana Electricity Duty Act, 1939 — a per-unit levy, not a percentage. 300 units means ₹18 duty.
Q6: Are TSSPDCL and TGSPDCL the same?
Ans: Yes. TSSPDCL was renamed TGSPDCL in 2024 after the state’s official abbreviation changed to TG. Same company, same service area, same tariff.
Q7: Do TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL charge different rates?
Ans: No. TGERC approves one common retail tariff for both DISCOMs (and the Sircilla Co-op Society), so this calculator works statewide, including Hyderabad.
Q8: What is FSA or FCA on a Telangana bill?
Ans: Fuel Surcharge/Cost Adjustment — a variable per-unit charge TGERC allows periodically under Regulation No. 2 of 2023 to pass through fuel-cost changes. It is zero unless a notification is in force.
Q9: How do I pay my TGSPDCL bill online?
Ans: Pay at tgsouthernpower.org with your Unique Service Number, via the official app, UPI, cards, net banking, BBPS, T-Wallet or Mee Seva. TGNPDCL consumers use tgnpdcl.in.
Q10: What is the TGSPDCL customer care number?
Ans: 1912 — the 24×7 electricity helpline, valid for both TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL.
Q11: When do Telangana electricity tariffs change?
Ans: TGERC issues the retail tariff order annually, effective 1 April. The FY 2026-27 order (dated 30.03.2026) retained all domestic rates unchanged from FY 2025-26.
Q12: Is this TSSPDCL bill calculator official?
Ans: No — BillUnits.in is independent, but every rate is verified against TGERC’s FY 2026-27 order and the Telangana Electricity Duty Act, and the TSSPDCL Bill calculator applies the official three-tier category system exactly. Results are estimates; FSA, subsidies and arrears may vary.
